The Mossline M65 Cairn ranks quietest at 36.8 dB, followed by the Kelp60 Reef at 38.6 dB, the M75 Fen at 39.4 dB, and the KLP-80 Tide at 40.9 dB, all measured at 30 cm during August 2026 at 60 words per minute. Every board in the top four uses a silent switch family.

Measurement conditions stay constant across the ranking. Each board typed English prose at 60 words per minute from 30 centimeters on a standard desk surface, and readings represent the median of five runs. Identical methodology makes the decibel gaps directly comparable.

Construction separates the leaders beyond their switches. The Cairn adds a brass case and poron plate, the Reef a wooden case and carbon-fiber plate, the Fen a polycarbonate gasket shell, and the Tide an aluminum gasket build, showing that dampening layers compound across mount, plate, and case choices.
