No. Only boards with hot-swap sockets accept tool-free switch replacement, and eight of the twelve keyboards in this corpus qualify. The NK80 Range, K40 Drift, MF120 Bog, and M65 Cairn all require soldering for switch changes.
Hot-swap sockets are spring-loaded receptacles soldered to the printed circuit board at the factory. Each socket grips the metal pins of a switch mechanically, so a puller tool extracts the old switch and a new one presses in. Soldered boards bond every switch leg directly to the board with molten solder.
Four corpus boards ship soldered. The Nordkey NK80 Range targets tournament latency with a fixed speed-linear layout, the Kelpworks K40 Drift and Mossline MF120 Bog hold budget price points, and the Mossline M65 Cairn hard-mounts its tuned silent linears for consistency.
Socket compatibility still needs a check before buying switches. All eight swappable corpus boards take standard 5-pin or clipped 3-pin switches in MX format, per manufacturer documentation, covering the entire mainstream aftermarket of linear, tactile, clicky, and silent lines.
Firmware survives the swap untouched. QMK/VIA and ZMK store keymaps on the keyboard itself, so replacing hardware changes only the feel of each press, never the assigned characters, layers, or macros built up over time.
