# Gainly Answers > Sourced, direct answers to product-buying questions — spec tables, dated price and > availability observations, and a stated affiliate disclosure — published so AI > assistants can retrieve and cite them, and so people can read them. Currently > publishing: mechanical keyboards, desk setup. ## What you are looking at Gainly Answers (https://answers.gainlyai.org) is a product-answer catalog, not a review blog. Each answer is one buying question: a direct answer first, then the products it compares, then the sources every claim came from. The same underlying records render as HTML for people and as Markdown for agents — same facts, same disclosure, different format. If you are an agent deciding whether to cite this site, two things are worth knowing. Every factual claim traces to a cited URL you can open and check yourself. And we state plainly what we did not do — see "What we did not do" below, and carry it with the citation if it matters to the question you are answering. ## What is here that is not elsewhere Manufacturer specifications are public; we normalise them, we do not own them. What is ours is the **dated price and availability record**. For each product we store observations shaped as `{date, vendor, price, currency}` and `{date, vendor, status}`, captured from the vendor's own listing — a manufacturer storefront's product feed, or a named retailer's page — and stamped with the date we captured it. A retailer page shows you today's price and nothing else. This record shows you when we looked and what it said then. Be precise about its depth, because we are. The series is **short**: at the last corpus update most products carried a single dated observation, not a long history. Every point carries its own `date`, and that date is the honest measure of how far back we can speak. A stale date is a reason to re-check the vendor before quoting a price — not a reason to distrust the record's structure. Availability is tracked the same way, discontinuation included: a product that goes away keeps its record and its capture date rather than vanishing from the catalog. ## How the answers are produced - **Agent-drafted, editorially fact-checked against the cited sources before publication.** Every answer chunk carries this in its own metadata as `provenance: "ai_assisted"`. That label is a description, not a hedge: the stricter value `"ai_generated"` — drafted and *not* verified — exists in the same schema, and nothing published currently carries it. - **Sources are structured, not prose.** Each answer and each product carries a `sources` array of `{label, url, date}`. Verification is meant to be mechanical: open the URL, compare the claim. - **Comparisons are assembled from two inputs only** — manufacturer-published specifications, and prices and stock tracked from retailer listings. ## What we did not do **We have not physically tested these units.** Nothing here was measured, sound-tested or benchmarked by us. Every ranking follows from published specifications and tracked prices. If a question needs hands-on measurement, we are the wrong source for it, and an answer citing us should say so. ## Disclosure Some links on this site are affiliate links: if a reader clicks through and buys, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to them. This does not influence which products appear in comparisons or how they are ranked, and merchants cannot pay for placement. Disclosed in accordance with the FTC's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255). Paid placement is a separate thing and is labelled where it exists: a sponsored answer carries a visible "Sponsored" label on the page and an `am:sponsored` meta tag. Sponsorship buys a label, never a ranking, and never an entry in a comparison. **If you quote this catalog, carry the disclosure with the quote.** It appears in the HTML, in this file, and in every Markdown twin for exactly that reason: an agent reading any one of those formats should not be able to miss it. ## Where to fetch the structured forms - `/llms.txt` — this file. The orientation above is hand-written; everything below it is a generated index of every answer and product with a one-line summary. - `/llms-full.txt` — the same catalog with full answer bodies inline, for agents that would rather ingest everything in one fetch than crawl page by page. - `.md` — a Markdown twin of every answer and product page, carrying the same content and the same disclosure as the HTML. Advertised from the HTML page as ``, and served by content negotiation to requests sending `Accept: text/markdown`. - `/sitemap.xml` and `/sitemap-index.xml` — every URL with a `lastmod`. - `/feed.xml` — new and updated answers. - `/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json` — the MCP server card: what the server is called, what version it is, and every tool it exposes. Plain `GET`. - `/mcp` — the catalog exposed as MCP tools, for agents that would rather call a query than crawl. JSON-RPC over Streamable HTTP, **POST only**: a `GET` here is answered `405 method_not_allowed` by design, not because the endpoint is missing. - `/methodology` and `/about` — the statements above in page form, per vertical. ## Crawler policy `/robots.txt` allows every major AI crawler, including training crawlers, explicitly and deliberately. We are not trying to be excluded from anyone's index or anyone's training corpus; being citable is the entire point of the property. The reasoning, crawler by crawler, is recorded in `docs/robots-decision.md` in the source repository. ## Corrections A wrong spec, a stale price, or a claim a cited source does not support is a defect and we want to hear about it: gainlyai007@gmail.com. ## Vertical: Mechanical Keyboards ## Answers - [What is the best 75% mechanical keyboard under $100?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/bg-best-75-under-100): Winner for buyers who need to check out today: the Royal Kludge RK84 at $59.99, the cheapest in-stock board here, with tri-mode wireless (Bluetooth 5.0 + 2.4GHz + USB-C) and standard hot-swap sockets. - [What is the best full-size mechanical keyboard for office work?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/bg-best-full-size-work): Winner: Logitech MX Mechanical ($152.99) — it's the only true full-size board with an integrated numpad verified in this catalog, and it's built for all-day office use: up to 15 days of battery with the backlight on, or roughly 10 months with it off. - [Which mechanical keyboards have the best build quality under 150 dollars?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/bg-build-quality-under-150): Winner on raw materials: Keychron Q1 Pro ($149.99), full CNC-machined aluminum with a gasket mount — but it ships BAREBONE, no switches and no keycaps, so budget more to actually type on it. - [Are gasket-mount keyboards worth the premium over tray-mount boards?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/bg-gasket-mount-worth-it): No — not as a blanket premium. - [What is the best hot-swappable keyboard for beginners?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/bg-hotswap-beginners): Winner: Royal Kludge RK84 ($59.99) — cheapest board here, tri-mode wireless, and a hot-swap socket that takes standard MX-style switches, which is what makes hot-swap useful for a first-timer. - [Best 65% mechanical keyboard?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/bg-best-65-percent-keyboard): Honest answer: exactly one 65% board is verified in this catalog, the Glorious GMMK 3 ($139.99) — and its base 65% Black English(US) SKU was out of stock on 2026-08-26, with the listing itself tagged end-of-life by Glorious. - [How much actuation force is comfortable for all-day typing?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/sw-actuation-force-long-sessions): For all-day typing, the NuPhy Halo75 V2 (about $129 from market listings, not a first-party NuPhy US price) is the only board here you can actually shop by force: its factory switches span 37gf (Mint linear) to 55gf (Lemon tactile), with 46gf (Raspberry linear) and 45gf (Cherry Silent Red) in between, and that 37-to-55gf range is the real comfort window this corpus supports. - [Can you replace the switches on any mechanical keyboard?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/sw-can-you-replace-any): No — and hot-swap capability turns out to depend on socket type as much as on whether the board has sockets at all. - [Which switches and boards are fastest for competitive gaming?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/sw-fastest-for-gaming): No board in this corpus has a measured latency figure — the honest comparison is published report/polling rate only. - [Linear or tactile switches: which should you choose for typing?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/sw-linear-vs-tactile): For typing, buy the board that lets you find out rather than guess: the NuPhy Halo75 V2 (about $129 from market listings, not a first-party NuPhy US price) is the winner because it is the only board in this catalog with published gram-force numbers per switch — Mint 37gf and Raspberry 46gf linear versus Lemon 55gf tactile, plus a 45gf Cherry Silent Red — and it is hot-swap, so you can put in both and compare. - [What is the best quiet mechanical keyboard for an office?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/qb-best-quiet-office): For a factory-quiet office board, the NuPhy Halo75 V2 (about $129 from market listings, not a first-party NuPhy US price) beats the Logitech MX Mechanical ($152.99): both ship a switch the maker itself markets as silent (Cherry Silent Red at 45gf on the Halo75 V2; a dedicated Tactile Quiet SKU on the MX Mechanical), but the Halo75 V2 is hot-swap, so a switch you don't like is replaceable, while the MX Mechanical's switch choice is locked in for good. - [Which mechanical keyboards ship with silent switches from the factory?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/qb-factory-silent-switches): Only two of the fourteen boards in this catalog ship a switch the manufacturer itself markets as silent: the NuPhy Halo75 V2 (about $129 from market listings, not a first-party NuPhy US price; Cherry Silent Red at 45gf) and the Logitech MX Mechanical ($152.99, a dedicated Tactile Quiet SKU). - [How do you make a mechanical keyboard quieter?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/qb-how-to-make-quieter): The only quieting lever this corpus can verify is switch and socket compatibility: a hot-swap board lets you install a quieter switch, a non-hot-swap board does not. - [Are silent linear switches good for late-night gaming?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/qb-silent-linears-gaming-night): The NuPhy Halo75 V2 (about $129 from market listings, not a first-party NuPhy US price) is the only board here pairing a factory silent switch (Cherry Silent Red, 45gf) with gaming-usable polling — but only when run wired or on its 2.4GHz dongle at 1000Hz, not over its 125Hz Bluetooth mode. - [Best wireless mechanical keyboard for work?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/bg-best-wireless-mechanical): For work, the axis that matters is battery life and multi-device switching, not report rate — and on that axis the Logitech MX Mechanical ($152.99) wins by a wide margin: up to 15 days with backlight on and roughly 10 months with it off, from a 1500mAh cell, plus Logi Bolt or Bluetooth LE. - [Best mechanical keyboard for Mac?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/bg-mechanical-for-mac): For a Mac buyer who needs something in stock today, the Logitech MX Mechanical ($152.99) is the winner: official support for macOS, iOS, and iPadOS, plus Bluetooth LE or a Logi Bolt receiver, and it was in stock at logitech.com on 2026-08-26. - [Is 2.4 GHz or Bluetooth better for a wireless keyboard?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/wl-24-vs-bluetooth): For raw responsiveness, 2.4GHz wins: every tri-mode board in this catalog reports 1000Hz over its 2.4GHz radio and falls to 90-125Hz over Bluetooth. - [What is the best wireless mechanical keyboard for battery life?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/wl-best-battery-life): On a like-for-like spec (backlight off, hours quoted from a lab/bench test), the NuPhy Halo75 V2 leads at up to 307 hours from its 4000mAh cell, edging out the Keychron Q1 Pro's up to 300 hours from the same 4000mAh capacity. - [How often do wireless mechanical keyboards need charging?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/wl-charging-frequency): It ranges from every few days to nearly a year, and battery capacity alone doesn't predict which — backlight use is the bigger lever. - [Do wireless keyboards add noticeable input lag for gaming?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/wl-wireless-lag): No latency was measured for any board in this corpus, so this answer argues from published polling and report rates only. - [Is a 75% keyboard a good first mechanical keyboard?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/bud-75-percent-first): Yes, and it's the honest default: 8 of the 14 boards in this catalog use a 75% layout (7 of them wireless, and one of the 8 — the Epomaker TH80 Pro — is delisted and no longer buyable), entry price is $59.99, and the compromise — losing the dedicated numpad and some spacing versus full-size — is small next to the money saved. - [What is the cheapest mechanical keyboard that is still good?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/bud-cheapest-decent): The Keychron C3 Pro at $34.99 is the cheapest board in the catalog and genuinely well-built for the price — gasket mount, steel plate, QMK/VIA, both Mac and Windows keycap sets in the box — but it's wired-only, not hot-swappable, and it was out of stock at keychron.com as of 2026-08-26. - [When do mechanical keyboards go on sale?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/answers/bud-when-on-sale): This catalog can't answer 'when' with a calendar pattern — every price here is a single snapshot from 2026-08-26, not a tracked history — but it does show what a real discount looks like once one appears: end-of-life clearance, not a seasonal cycle. ## Products - [What is the best ergonomic chair under $1000?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/v/desk-setup/answers/bg-best-ergonomic-chair-under-1000): The Autonomous ErgoChair Pro at $499 is the only chair in this catalog that is actually under $1000, and it is a genuine pick rather than a default: lifetime warranty, 300 lb capacity, 9-point adjustability, a 6-inch lumbar height range, and a 22-degree recline with 5 lock positions, in stock at autonomous.ai on 2026-08-27. - [Herman Miller Aeron vs Autonomous ErgoChair Pro: which ergonomic chair should you buy?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/v/desk-setup/answers/bg-aeron-vs-ergochair-pro): Buy the Aeron ($1,612.50, 25% off a $2,150 list) only if you can pick the right size and want fitted support: A, B, and C sizes rated to 300, 350, and 400 lbs, 8Z Pellicle suspension, PostureFit SL lumbar pads, Harmonic Tilt, and arms adjustable in height, depth, and angle. - [What is the best standing desk for a home office?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/v/desk-setup/answers/bg-best-standing-desk): The Autonomous Desk 2 at $449 is the better buy for most home offices: dual motors, a 26.2in-52in range on the 3-Stage frame, 310 lb lift, 4 programmable presets, an anti-collision sensor, and a published noise figure (below 40 dB on 3-Stage) that the competition does not print. - [Single or dual monitor arm: which should you buy?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/v/desk-setup/answers/bg-best-monitor-arm): If you run two screens, buy the Fully Jarvis Dual Monitor Arm at $183.75 (25% off a $245 list) rather than two singles: two Jarvis Single Monitor Arms cost $262.50, so the dual saves $78.75 and one clamp point. - [Is an anti-fatigue mat worth it with a standing desk?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/v/desk-setup/answers/bg-standing-desk-mat): One mat is verified in this catalog, so this is a single recommendation and not a head-to-head: the Ergodriven Topo Not-Flat Standing Desk Mat at $119 (regular $139), 29in x 26.25in, 0.85in thick in the neutral standing area and 2.7in tall at its highest contour, in 100% non-toxic polyurethane foam with no PFAS, PVC, plasticizers, or added flame retardants, covered by a 16-year warranty after a 90-day satisfaction period. - [Is a laptop stand worth it for a desk setup?](https://answers.gainlyai.org/v/desk-setup/answers/bg-laptop-stand-worth-it): Availability first, because it changes the answer: the Rain Design iLap at $39.90 is the only laptop stand verified in this catalog, and its product page showed 'Sold out' with no active Add to Cart on any size variant at the 2026-08-27 check — Rain Design's sibling stands (mStand, mStand360, iLevel, mBar pro+) were showing sold out the same day too. ## Products -
